Winter sites:

"January brings the snow,
Makes our feet and fingers glow"
...and it also begins a "Harvest of Holidays," red-letter calendar days that bring color and excitement to every season. New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day, and Groundhog's Day crowd the snowy season with fun and festivities.

Martin Luther King
"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."

Groundhog’s Day
The superstition that the groundhog can predict the weather was brought to this country by the British and the Germans. They believed that if the groundhog saw its shadow, it would be frightened and go back into its hole to hibernate for six more weeks; it was believed that this meant more winter weather. An early spring was anticipated if the groundhog did not see his shadow.
